Wildhorse Reservoir, Gold Creek and Merritt Mountain

Jack Creek and Independence Mountains
Start your adventure from Jack Creek Lodge to discover this mountainous ranching country with the Independence Range on the east and the Tuscaroras on the west. With a nearly 4,000 foot rise in elevation, the Independence offers a wide varity of terrain for all levels of experience.

Directions: Drive north out of Elko on State Route 225. Turn west on State Route 226 heading towards Tuscarora. Jack Creek is 30 miles (48.3 km) northwest on 226.

North Fork, Charleston and Jarbidge
Up to 30 feet of snow can fall in this rugged winter wilderness, providing a variety of unique challenges for snowmobiliers. Snowmobiling is prohibited in designated Wilderness areas.

Directions: Drive north on State Route 225 to the Jarbidge/Charleston turnoff on Country Road 746. Drive approximately 22 miles (35.4 km) east until this road deadends. Turn north and drive 6 miles (10 km) to Charleston.

Lamoille Canyon Scenic Byway
Gorgeous scenery through this rugged glaciated canyon. Paved road winds to unloading spot at snow line. Remember snowmobioing is prohibited in designated Wilderness areas.
