LAKE FISHING ADVENTURESSouth Fork State Recreation Area
South Fork covers 1,650 acres and is surrounded by 2,200 acres of rolling hills and meadowloands. This reservoir is best known for trout and bass fishing, with a small amount of catfish also caught. Facilities include a boat launch, campground, trailer dump station and picnic area.

Directions: Drive southeast on State Route 227 towards Spring Creek (6 miles - 10 km). Turn south on State Route 228. Drive approximately 5 miles until the South Fork turnoff ot the west.
Wildhorse State Recreation Area
This 120 acre park is centered on the northeast shore of Wildhorse Reservoir. Trout, bass, yellow perch and catfish can all be caught from the shore or by boat.

Directions: Drive north on State Route 225 to State Route 226 intersection. Turn west and drive 70 miles (112.7 km) to Wilson Resevoir.
Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge
This 37,632 acre refuge holds Ruby Lake and prime large mouth bass fishing. Fly or spin fishing is also available, as well as the possibiility of hooking a real trophy trout. A fresh water bullrush marsh, open ponds and grassy uplands are also home to an amazing variety of birds and other animals. Motorized boats are permitted seasonally with a 10hp limit.

Directions: Drive southeast on State Route 228 towards Spring Creek (6 miles - 10 km). Turn south (right) at the stoplight on SR 228 and drive approximately 33 miles (53 km) to the Harrison Pass Road ( Country Road 718). Travel over Harrison Pass to the ruby Valley Toad. Turn right at the T intersection to reach the refuge and campground.
Angel Lake Scenic Byway
This beautiful alpine lake is accessible by paved road and offers plenty of mountain trout and memorable fly fishing. Motorized boats are prohibitied.

Wilson Reservoir
this body of water is more remote than others in Elko County, but offers great trout and large mouth bass fishing. Motorized boats are restricted ot 10hp.
