Directions: Drive south on State Route 225 to State Road 226. Drive west on SR 226 about 19 miles (31 km). Turn at Tuscarora sign onto Country Road 723 (graded dirt road). Follow 723 for 5 miles (8 km) to Tuscarora.
Harrison Pass

This portion of the Humboldt National Forest rises from the valley floor to over 7,000 feet in elevation. See beautiful views of Huntington Valley from the top of the ridge. Generally double track yrails through sagebrush, rolling hills, aspen stands, and beaver ponds in the stream.

Directions: Drinve southeast on State Route 227 towars Spring Creek (6 miles - 10 km). Turn south at State Route 228. Drive approximately 33 miles (53 km) on 228 to the Harrison Pass Road (Country Road 718). Turn right. Harrison Pass is approximately 8 miles (12.9 km).

Directions: Drive north on State Route 225 to Wildhorse State Recreation Area (67 miles - 108 km). Turn east on Country Road 745 and follow to Big Bend Campground. Parking for the trail (s) is available at Waterlog Summit just north of Big Bend.

Just outside Elko city limits, this historical trail follows the Hamilton Stage Route. There are fantastic views of Elko and the old Oil Shale Mine. Side trails to the south lead to Four Mile Canyon, Southfork State Recreation Area, and the Southfork Humboldt River Canyon, route of the infamous Donner-Reed Party in 1846.

Directions: Drive south on 5th Street through Elko. Turn west on Wilson Avenue and follow 1.3 miles to Hamilton Stage Road; turn south. Drive approximately 1.3 miles (1.2 km) on dirt road and take the right fork in Hamilton State Road. Trail begins in 1.5 miles (2.4 km).
